What Happened To StarTrek?

What happened to my beloved StarTrek? That is a question I ask myself every time I manage to sit down and watch an episode of
Enterprise. What happened?

What do I mean? Well as many of you might already know Enterprise is Cancelled. This is the first StarTrek show since the Original Series that has not lasted seven seasons. But why? Well its not too hard to put two and two together. Their names are Berman And Braga, Most just call them B&B. They produced everything from StarTrek Voyager, to Enterprise. They gave us the Great Box Office Bomb, StarTrek nemesis. They barely squeaked Voyager through it's Seven Year journey we call cable. And now they have finally failed with Enterprise.

Where did they go wrong? Well it seems Berman And Braga don't understand what the Fan Base wants. Actually in a recent interview Braga blamed the fans. He pretty much said the fans are getting sick of StarTrek. I'm a Fan, I'm not sick of StarTrek!! I'm just sick of Bragga and crew! Why? Well for some unknown reason Braga and his posse are In love with Time Travel Episodes. They love to make them, in fact the whole 1st season, and 2nd season of Enterprise was based around a Time Travel War. Blah.. What's wrong with that you may ask? Well Polls have showed in the past that Time Travel Episodes are StarTrek Viewers least favorite type of episodes!!

So why did they do it then? I believe it's because they are not in touch with the fan base, nor StarTrek in general. Now I would be kidding myself If I thought the Time Travel aspects of their shows was the only reason Enterprise Failed. It's not! Enterprise for it's first three seasons was not startrek! It was some alternate dimension. Berman And Braga didn't follow the History of trek at all. We were given enough little pieces of Trek history in the original series, and some of the other series. The Romulan war, birth of federation etc, the eventual piece treaties that made the Neutral zones. Instead Berman And Braga decided to write their own history, in direct conflict with what we learned about Enterprises time from the other series. Vulcans with emotion, Florida getting blasted to bits. God the list goes on, it doesn't come close to resembling the begging of the federation.

They tried to rectify this some in season 3. They made the Zindi Conflict... But guess what it was tied to time travel again. A mysterious race that lives outside time, talked the zindi into trying to destroy earth. It was an ok season, at the end of season Earth Was saved, but guess what? Not before Captain Archer went back IN TIME to WWII, and an alternate History of earth. OH GOD.

Then Season 4 started, I almost didn't watch it cause now its on Fridays at 8PM, way to go UPN, thanks for that. :( Lucky for us a new a fresh voice came in and gave season 4 an uplift, his Name is Manny Cato. He wrapped up the crappy time war. And help make what would be the best season yet of Enterprise. The Romulan War is on the horizon, its getting good!!! But It's too late. Its been cancelled. Season 4 for me is actually what season one should of been like. But now its gone.

But wait folks, its not over just yet. A few people are trying to save it. But it doesn't look good for right now. Maybe If Sci Fi picks it up. But they already have BattleStar Galatica. At this point it looks like the show will be dead. And with it any last chance for another Trek Series.

Now this is all just the tip of the iceberg. There is another Movie in the works. But guess what? Paramount in their infinite wisdom has given the movie to Braga to produce. Oh My God!! Ok, I think someone in Paramount wants StarTrek to die a Horrorible death.. And he is using Braga as his Tool to kill it. (since he seems so good at it) Only time will tell what will happen. But if Braga makes the Next Trek Movie, its going to bomb. Wish someone in paramount would slap some sense into the bigwigs! Keep giving Bragga his way, and Trek is dead Forever. Gene Rodenberry dust is rolling around in his space capsule today...

Guess there is always BattleStar Galatica.
