I have not played such an Enjoyable game for some time. And this year with Budgets low its the only game I have purchased this year so far. Whats Going on In Israel After War?

Israel is claiming that Hezbolla is Arming (not surprised) and are not out of Area yet. Story

Israel is also saying that France (rember them?) are not keeping up to their end of the Peace Deal. (again not surprised UN and France are both a Joke). Story

Again I am very wary of the UN and their ways. They cannot keep the Peace in Africa, nor the middle east. I think it was a mistake for the US to back the Peace Treaty and for Israel to Agree to the peace treaty. It won't last, and the people that died in that war on both sides including the Civilians died for NOTHING now. Hezbolla will rearm and attack again.

Guess I was wrong on this, it won't be lead by US or British troops but French Troops. And The leader of Hezbolla has Agreed to the Peace Terms set by the UN. Can it really be this easy? Time will tell. But here are some of the Key Points to the UN peace deal.

• An immediate cessation of hostilities agreed to by Israel and the Lebanese government. Most significantly the agreement is not with Hezbollah — and it is not clear whether it will sign on or whether its Syrian and Iranian backers will place any pressure on it to stop fighting.

• The release of the abducted Israeli soldiers and a “settlement of the issue of Lebanese prisoners detained in Israel” — a prisoner exchange of some sort. It is not clear whether it will be simultaneous, or down the road, or whether either side will agree.

• The disarmament of all militias and a demilitarized zone from the Israeli border up until the Litani River inside Lebanon. Only the Lebanese army and the new international force being deployed in the buffer zone will be allowed to carry arms there. IE FOX NEWS.

If anyone actually thinks that Hezbolla is going to Follow a UN Peace deal they are dead wrong. They did not leave the last time, and they will not leave this time. At first it was 21 suspects, now its about 24 arrested in Britain. And getting reports of More Arrest in Pakistan where it is said most of the Terrorist might have Originated from. (I also Heard they were British Citizens) And today if your flying, keep your Soda bottle and Shampoo in your Check Baggage.

While I understand what some of you might be going through right now at the Airport, be happy that is all the problems you are having. It could be worse. You could be dead. Now as the days unravel I'm sure we will learn more about what happened. But some things I have noted so far in News.

The plot was Not going to happen today. MI5 and British authorities arrested the suspects well before the Attacks where going to happen. I even heard the rumor that the terrorist would have a Dry Run This Weekend.

Some sort of Liquid Explosive was to be used to take down at least 9 Aircraft.

This is not the First time this has been done, and Philippines Airline was attacked in 90s in same way.

And most important... Terrorist Kill CIVILIANS, they bomb them On purpose. Moms, Dads, Children, everyone is a target. Unlike The United States and EVEN GASP ISRAEL who DOES not Purposely KILL civilians. One day the Looney Leftist and their Ilk will wake up and realize this.

Lucky for us though we don't have to wait. We have a government that Fights these Terrorist and brings the war to THEM. One day we will be hit again, we can't stop them all. They call them the Khaibar 1. And about 7 or so were fired at Israel Today. Most speculate that this rocket was supplied by Iran has about a 100 Kg Warhead and can reach about 120 miles. Now if we put 2 and 2 together, its clear that Hezbollah did not just make these rockets.. So I would tend to believe the speculation that either Iran or Sierra supplied these.

Un Peace Keepers Killed By Israel?

This seems to be the big story today. But how much of the story do you really know. Most news agencies are covering it like Israel Killed a Bunch of Un Guys.

Now for the Rest of the Story...

Seems that about week ago One of the Canadians that was killed in that bombing had written a letter to former UN Commander. The email describes how the Hezbolla used the Outpost as a Shield and was firing rockets Near the Outpost in hopes Israel would not bomb them. Now things are not so cut and dry.

But yet this story gets very little play why? We because the Truth doesn't make ratings. If that was the story most would just shrug it off as, well thats Terrorist for you. But if you make it sound like Israel attacked them on Purpose.. That sound a little better right? We should be use to it, this is how the media makes stories anyway. Stretch the truth and make a buck. Keep the story running and woopie good ratings.. Sad.

Now another thing? Why do we have UN Peace Keeping force in the battlezone anyway? Oviously their is no Peace To Keep right? It is a war zone right? the whole notion of a Peace Keeping force is kinda silly when the two sides are blasting each other right?

UN is good at passing out food, not so good at keeping the Peace. We can just look at Africa for that proof.

With the war on terror, its easy to forget an even bigger threat to our Security. When we hear about the Axis of Evil it includes North Korea, Iran. When you are listening to the news the Same two countries are focal points for our next conflict. But what about China? While we close Sub Bases, and other Military Bases China is building more.

Ask yourself this question, what did we do to Russia to win the Cold War? We bankrupted them right? Now really think hard, with everything you buy at the store being made in China, even Some parts of our Military Uniforms are Made In China. What would happen if we went to war with China? What would happen If China decided one day to cut us Off? If you have not guessed yet.. It would be bad.

China And Russia both have Ample supplies of Oil, we don't. We get a Good majority of our oil from Middle East. Now, what if China is Doing to Us what we did to Russia during the Cold War? Sound far Fetched? Think about it, how much has China bought into the US? For instance they just tried to buy Uncal remember? Why would they want to control even more oil? Including our own resources?

You top that with the Huge Buildup of Military Forces and you should be concerned. And so should our government!

In the adding insult to injury category, the city officials that triumphed over a group of Connecticut homeowners in a landmark Supreme Court property-rights case are expecting those residents to pay the local government rent dating back to the year 2000.

The June 23 Supreme Court ruling in Kelo v. City of New London gave the town the approval to seize the residents' homes and transfer them to a private party for development of an office complex. In the highly controversial decision, the justices ruled 5-4 that the economic development resulting from the eminent domain action qualified as "public use" under the Fifth Amendment of the Constitution.

The city now says that since it won the case, the homeowners actually have been living on city property since 2000 when it first began condemnation procedures against them, so they must pay back rent – to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Ghost Hunters 8/17/05

Another Episode of ghost hunters again tonight. Forget the first 15 mins of the show, another waste of space. No ghost again tonight in my opinion. Tonight The Taps team is chasing Sounds in a WWII battleship go figure.

Anyway, no real Evidence of anything in the ship just more ghost stories. And imagine this, sounds! I know its hard to believe that a 60 year old battleship that has been in Mothballs before I was even born can make sounds. But it does, it's just an old ship.

Last years ghost hunters was a lot better then what I am seeing this year, it's just really empty this year for me. Then add in the Crappy Editing, and the scary music and flashes of Evil Faces and other body parts and it stinks.

Maybe last year I found it interesting cause it was something new. Never seen a show like it before. But now the New Factor is going away, and the actual boredom is showing. I will give the show a Few more episodes. But if things don't get better, then I'll watch something else.

Don't get me wrong, I want to like this show. Ghost, paranormal stuff fascinates me. I don't mind spending 1 hour week watching stuff like this, as long as its interesting. But adding all this Artificial stuff to the show is taking its toll. This is one reason I can't watch that other Ghost Hunting Show on Travel Channel, its so fake.

All I can do is wait and see what happens. And hope things get better.

Ghost Hunters 8/10/05

Tonight on Ghost Hunters was kind of interesting. Back to New Orleans and to a House of a man that says ghost is bothering him when he has Lady Friends come over. Nothing happens during the investigation, but later checking the taped footage they come along a Door Opening by itself.

Now there was no shadow to show that someone opened the door, nor a reflection of someone opening the door in a mirror that did show the other side of the door. (only the top half though)

What I find a little interesting on this footage is that the door only opens just enough to notice it open, and close. It does not fully open all the way, and you can only see the top half of the other side of the door thru the Mirror. So again its tough to say if this is actually a ghost, or someone making false evidence. If the door opened all the way I might be a little more convinced.

The other Investigation tonight brought the Taps team to Brennan's restaurant. Total waste of time really, seems more of a tourist trap to me then a real haunting. But hey if Brennan's can get a free advertisment on Sci-Fi for the cost of a Meal to the Taps Team.. Good for them. Other then that total waste of time.

When does finding news, turn into a Witch hunt? What the NY Times is doing is disgusting, for a News Paper that suppose to be doing News... Seems kind of strange that they are going through so much trouble to pick up dirt on a Supreme Court Nominee.

Now would they do this if the Nominee was selected by a Democrat? I doubt it, this is the same paper that ran over 50 Front Page articles on the Abu Grave Prison Abuses (more then any paper in the nation).

Ghost Hunters 8/03/05

Tonight's episode had the Taps team going to two separate houses. One in Massachuttes and another in Rhode Island.

The first house, what can I say.. It was pretty boring. The Taps team found some Bones under the Barn that ended up being Cow bones. They didn't find one piece of evidence. And it seems it is the Little Boy that is bothering the Little girl at night.

The 2nd house too me didn't amount to much either. The Girl that lived at the house, I did notice she had an Xfiles fetish. Xfile posters were all over the place and other Occult objects. The mark on Jasons back is a mystery though. But again? How do we know its from the house? He could of done it at work, or might of been some kind of rash.. Maybe.
They had two EVP's but they were so distorted I couldn't make heads or tails out of it.

So my conclusion is, another two houses Debunked.

On a side note, its pretty obvious that the Brian Vs Grant and Jason episodes are just for show. Guess Sci Fi figures they have to spice the show up a little bit. And editing still stinks, they still add the 1/2 Second scary flashes, annoying...

Oil Prices Soar, Because Of Saudi Kings Death?

Yup prices soared over $61.00 today, because of the kings death. So ok, why? Why does it seem that the Oil Industry will use any excuse to raise the price of Oil? So if the Kings brother dies can we expect it to go up another buck? How about if the new king has Gas, will it go up again?

I think this should show people that we need to start Drilling our own Resources again, and more important need to cut our Oil Consumption down. And hopefully eventually move on too some other kind of Fuel source. Oil is getting to expensive, and too hard to get. Time to move on to something better.

It took us only a few years time to get a Space Program going, and to the moon. (we were motivated by the Russians) But we have been stuck using a 100 year old technology in our vehicles all this time. Please..

Review Of Ghost Hunters wednesday July 27 2005

Ghost Hunters wednesday July 27 2005

I'm going to review every episode that Ghost Hunters has on the Sci Fi channel this year. I watched Ghost Hunters Last year and must admit I enjoyed it. I can say with a pretty reasonable certainty that they did not have any real evidence of Hauntings in any of the shows last year. Why do I like it then? I've always been fascinated with this stuff, use to study Ghost and Occult when I was younger, so the show interest me for those reasons. The name of the show is Ghost Hunters, the Name of the Group is TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society). Owned by Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson.

Last year I would make it a habit to read the message board for Ghost Hunters On SciFi.com. And I tell you what, that was almost as fun to watch as the show itself. The constant complaining, and moaning on that Message board is Funny stuff. You have other Ghost Hunters blasting Taps for their Methods. People blasting the show over how they Always seem to mention Rotor Roters every episode. Complain about Brain. And they always debunk what the Ghost Hunters Find, and most time they have good reasons.

This wednesday show was filmed in New Orleans, the crew has New people, New Equipment a New Van and new Office. With all this new stuff, I hope Sci-Fi is paying Taps this year for the new episodes. Supposedly last years Taps never received a dime for the shows. But now with all this new stuff, and office etc, can't believe that Two Plumbers from Rotor Roter can pay the taps bills, and Normal life bills too.

After a 3 day ride, and a plane trip, Taps is in New Orleans. Like last year the drama between the owners of Taps and Brian continues. (getting a little old) This time they check out Myrtles Plantation which is suppose to be the Most Haunted Place in America (do a goggle search and seems to be a lot of these Most Haunted places in America) This time we have some pretty not so convincing evidence. Which surprised me a lot because Jason Hawes last year was a stickler for this stuff.

One piece of evidence shows a shadow of a person through the Glass. That was a person, not a ghost.. LOL.. The flashes that went by Grant Wilson inferred Camera, once on stairs and once outside, looked to me like his hand. And then the cream of the crop, the lamp moving by itself... Now I guess I would have to watch it again, but why didn't anyone in the room notice that lamp moving? Was the footage accelerated to look like that? (see bad editing last paragragh article) Grant was sitting right next to the lamp, Jason was on the bed. That whole seen looked so set up, should not even have been shown.

Anyway, I do enjoy watching the show.. Its different. But last nights episode was kind of disappointing. Seems this year the leaders of Taps is going to be a little more lenient on the evidence. Because those few things last night you had to laugh at.

Now this part has nothing to do with Taps, but the editors of the show need to chill.. Or go back to McDonald's cooking Fries. The editing is terrible. Also do any of you notice when they throw in those 1/2 second Chill Moments? Look for them real close, when they switch to a new scene the editors throw in a scary Sound clip and a 1/2 second image. Usually something scary like a skeleton, scary face, ghost or something. That to me is kinda lame. I guess they are trying to mess with peoples heads subliminal. If you didn't notice this (and they do it every episode) check it out next week.

Modders For SHIII Are Having Their Work Stolen

Thought I would mention this on my site, but if you Follow the Simulation Silent Hunter III and enjoy the Mods that a lot of people have put into SHIII, then this story might Disgust you.

A company Named X1 Software, who is based out of Germany is Releasing an Unofficial SHIII Payware addon. Its going to be called Seawolves. Cool right? Nope!! It seems all this company has done has been to Take some of the Mods you can download for Free from Sites like Subsim
uboat real simulation and slapped them on a CD and are selling them to you.

Ok you say? Nope again, it seems some of the mods that are known to be on the CD do not have permission to be on it? Seems X1 software forgot to ask the Modders that made these mods for permission to use them, and make money off their work!!! Seen this done with Flight Simulator a lot and it disturbs me, lost a lot of good Modders in Flight Sim to Companies like X1 Software.

The worst part about all of this is that Not anything anybody can do. Mods are not Copywritten because Legally any mod made for SHIII belongs to UBI. And UBI does not seem to want to do a thing about this. So again, a bunch of modders are having their hard work stolen from them, and again I might witness the loss of a few good modders to Pirates and Thieves.

Shuttle Takes Off

Shuttle Lifted off today Tuesday July 26, 2005. Its been about 2 years since the last shuttle took off, and of course we all know what happened in that tradjedy. But it seems the Media is getting in a ruckus over some foam that separated. (anything for a story guess)

Now NASA says this is normal, they would rather it not Happen but its just too difficult to stop. The foam separates from the External Fuel tanks after lift off, its not part of the Shuttle. If you remember that is what happened to the Columbia in 2003, but this time a huge chunk hit one of the Heat Shields on Wing.

Discovery Commander Eileen Collins radioed this message after discovery was in orbit for few Hours: "We know that the folks back on the planet Earth are just feeling great right now, and our thanks to everybody for all the super work that's been done over the past 2 1/2 years to get us flying again."

ABC To Air American Idol Story

Well, been hearing about this story for some time now and I'm interested to see what it's about. But of course I think I already know what it is about. After witnessing last weeks response from Paula Abdul, after Constatine was voted off it's pretty obvious. Paula and constatine are fooling around.

But the rumor mill on the internet is that its not even about Any of these contestants, its not even about any finalist at all. Its about someone last year that never made it to the finals. So if this is true, and ABC airs this lame story. Then they are desperate.

But, I guess I will try to watch it wensday and see what the fuss is all about. But I have a feeling this might back fire on ABC.

Now American Idol does have it's problem. I still think its fixed, maybe not by the People that Produce the show. But by the people that can call 100,000 times if they want. But oh well, guess they will never ever change it.

24, A Show You Should Not Miss

24 starring Kiefer Shoutherland, is a show that I have missed for the last 4 seasons. Don't know why but I did. So few months ago I decided to rent the first season from Netflix. And boy am I glad I did. I have not seen such a good TV series in a very long, long time.

You see, I'm the kind of guy that can watch movies and figure out the plot within 10 mins of the movie. I think this is why latest movies are so Boring to me.. But 24, boy the first season had me going. It's different, I tell you their are so many plot twist and happenings going on that its crazy!! Now I do admit that I do figure some of it out, but I also get a little stumped once in awhile.

I'm now half way through season 2, and even though I figured out majority of plot (execpt some of it still has me wondering) its still a great show.

But, don't jump into the series NOW, without watching the other seasons. Cause you most likely will ruin the fun factor of watching them. So Hopefully I can get season 4 in before season 5 kicks off next fall. Cause I sure do want to watch this on T.V and get into some of the discussions on each episode that fills the internet after the shows.

So if your looking for something to do this summer. Catch up on 24. Don't worry try to remember that even though the disk have 4 episodes on them, they are not 4 hours long. With commercials taken out, they run about 3 hours or less.

Ok, yes I watch American Idol.. I'm sorry I can't help myself. Next I now hate American Idol. Constatine was voted off tonight and its total crap. But yet Scott is still in. WTF. Vonzell was in the BOTTOM 3. Total Bull.

I think if American Idol keeps letting people vote more then once, then it will always be A see who can call the most a Thon.

For the first time in the 2 years I have been watching. I tried to CALL. I could not get thru AT ALL. Busy, Busy, Busy.. Total bull.

Heard about this new bill just today. And I tell you what I'm a little concerned. I totally understand the reasons why they want this bill. To stop people from abusing Bankruptcy courts. But for the life of me I don't understand one thing. Ok you now have protected Credit Card Companies from People right? But why doesn't the Bill also protect People from the Credit Card Companies?

I don't know about you, but not a day goes by were I don't get a Credit Card Offer in the Mail. Now when I was younger.. And dumber. I fell in the Credit Card Trap. You know the $5,000 Dollar kind.. For some people its even more. Now we all know we have to take responsibility for our actions. If we borrow the money we should pay it back. Totally understand. But when is the Credit Card companies going to take responsibility for Giving out credit? They give it out to the younger crowd like its nothing. Ask yourself why do we have SO many Credit Help Centers around the country? Because people abuse Credit!! And the Credit card companies are happy to Let you. And if you have to pay $20,000 Dollar credit bill for the next 20 years.. Oh well!

So yes, I'm a little concerned about how this bill was done. You protected the Credit Card Companies. But not the people that borrow. We all done it. Something bad happens in the 20 years its going to take to pay that $20,000 and your soon over your head.

I find it kind of sad, and a little disturbing that I actually am on the Democratic side on this issue. I have no problem making people responsible for their actions.. But the bill should of also made the credit card companies more responsible in giving out credit. But then again, that's what they want. They want you to borrow as much as possible. Pay them for the next 20 years. So I find that in this latest Bill to be passed, that's a +1 for the Credit Card Companies. And a -1 for the Borrower. Way to go.

ATV Season For The New England Area is On its Way.

ATV Season in New England is about to start. But please remember, if you love to ride your ATV then observe these simple rules.

If a Trail Is Posted for Mud Season, Don't Go on it. If you do you might just destroy any last chances we have to ride our Beloved ATV's.

Ware safety equipment, and Ride Safe.

Don't forget as summer comes, you will start to share the Trails with Bikes, Walkers, Runners, and even horses. Remember your the most dangerous thing on the trails.. You have the ability to cause the most damage, or even death. So drive safe. If you see a large group of walkers slow down and let them pass, or pass them very slow. If you run into horses!! Stop the ATV and shut the engine off if they are heading towards you. Horses are very skiddish to ATV's. If you are going the same way as a horse, best bet is too slow down and wait to they notice you. They will most likely slow down or even stop on side to let you pass.

Before riding your ATV, do some basic maintenance on your Bike. Oil Change, Valve Jobs, Air Filter cleaning. Nothing worse then getting broke down, 40 miles in woods.

In summertime, if you see cans or other crap some loser left on the trail don't be afraid to pick it up and get rid of it. Most land you ride on is privately owned. You wouldn't want someone leaving Cans and trash on your lawn right? So don't leave it on someone's Trail. Two separate times last year I cleaned up beer cans off the trail system where I ride the most. It sucks. But it had to be done, to keep the riding legal.

And for you Maine Residences. We don't have a Legal Mud Season. But enough of the trails are run by ATV, and Snowmobile clubs that they might be posted for mud season. Listen to them, another month is not going to Kill you. If you don't listen to me or the Clubs, then listen to this. Right now Democrats Run the State Of Maine, and the Democrats would like nothing better to do then make their tree hugging hippie constituents happy and ban ATV riding altogether. And if your an ATV rider, and voted for one of the loser Democrats now plaguing our state... Thank you soooooo much.. Not!! Not that republicans are much better.. They are at least a little less likely to take your ATV rights away though.

remember again, Maine does not have a Mud Season in books yet. But keep abusing the trail system and they will. Then pretty soon you will be just like the sorry folks in Connecticut, Massachusetts.. no where to ride. So its up to you... Think before you ride.

Sin City Review

Sin City is going to be a Movie you love to hate. What will make you love it? Well its different, refreshing, and for once kind of entertaining. The visuals in the Movie are wonderfully representatives of a Graphic Novel. Which in the case of Sin City is where its story comes from.

What will you Hate about it? Sin City is actually a series of short stories within themselves. All revolving around a few main characters. I won't get into the movie, but its hard to get a plot out of Sin City, since it really doesn't have one. Actually if you want to think of a plot, then the Title of the Movie gives it away very nicely. SIN CITY.

Sin City is Rated R. So its not something you want to take your children too. Lots of Blood, guts and Naked Women. Its totally over the top, but its ok cause your not going to go see Sin City for Realism.

So my Verdict, go see it if you like these kind of movies. If not, you can wait to rent it.

Pope Passes Away After A Long Career As Papacy

April 2, 2005 9:37 p.m Pope John Paul II passes away. Catholics across the world morn this weekend over the loss of one of the Longest running pope. In fact he is only the Third Pope to have such a long Papacy.

I can remember his visit to United States in the Mid 90's, landed in Boston Mass. And He had his Pope Mobile.. At least that's what the News Media Called it.

Pope Paul John II was a polish born, and this hits the polish people the hardest. Seen as a Hero, and Liberator from Communism for the Polish people.

I'm very surprised by the amount of respect that He has received from the world at large. And I'm also glad to see that at least some respect and decency remains in this world.

But of course I'm sure that after the Week ends, the End Of The World people will come out from the rocks. Cause the death of Paul The II means that its only 7 years to end of world. LOL... Wait and see. Nostradamus Loones will be around in a week. You will see the history channel airing this crap. So don't let this garbage get to you, if you loved the man.. Terri Schiavo Passes Away

Terri Schiavo Passed away today 13 days after her feeding tube was removed at 9 Am, on 30, march 2005. I hope now, she can rest in Peace. And her family can recover from this tragedy. Of course by Florida law Schiavo will have a Autopsy, and hopefully some of the Unknown answers will be finally filled... Don't for one minute think that Mr Schiavo has anything to do with this Autopsy, its Florida Law that it be done. Some of the things they are going to look into hopefully is.

How did Terri Schiavo actually got Brain Damage... I would think after 15 years though that any traces of Chemical, or trauma would be gone. But who knows.

How did Terri Schiavo receive Numerous Broken bones during her 15 year stay in the Hospital?

After all this hopefully she will be laid to rest in Peace. I wish her family the best of luck and best wishes.

In Recent Supreme Court case, the Justices compared file sharing with old time Video, and cassette recorders. This is the latest case from the Music industry vs File Sharing Networks. This time they wanted the Justices to allow for the music industry to Sue any programmers that make File Sharing programs.

Lucky for the Internet in a whole, the Justices questioned this. And I agree with them. Now I use ITunes to purchase my music. But this newest idea by the Music industry seems that it could of been more trouble then its worth. Guess the Music Industry for now is going to have to deal with the Pirates... Just like the Game Companies have too. Lets just hope they don't come up with there own StarFox to help fight pirates.... Cause no matter what you do, someone is going to steal your work.. Sad, but its true.

Federal Court Approves Schiavo Review

11Th circuit Court Of Appeals Approved a review of Schiavos case today. For all that have not kept up on this story. Schiavo is still alive after 13 days without food tube connected. Man for someone that doesn't want to live this way, sure seems to be fighting it.

Also Schiavo is being given morphine. Now why would someone need morphine if the process of starving her is suppose to be painless? I mean the doctors have said before that she can't feel it, and is in a state of Euphoria.

It's hard not to write about this guy. I grew up listening to his songs Thriller, Beat It. But today people are not listening to his songs, but his On going Court Case for Child Molestation. Now I think the guy is the strangest, most weird person around!! But that's not enough to put you in Jail.

So my Prediction is.. Innocent. Do I believe he is? That's not for me to decide in this one. Something is going on, but the Defense has given enough Reasonable doubt to get a Not Guilty. There are just way to many Holes in the prosecution case. From the Kids lies, to the Jay Leno Problem... Things just don't seem to be adding up in this case!!

At any Rate, when its all over. Michael Jackson will be Free, be back to being the Weird guy he is. But hopefully this time, parents won't just leave their children with this guy. If they do, hopefully they supervise Them.

What Happened To StarTrek?

What happened to my beloved StarTrek? That is a question I ask myself every time I manage to sit down and watch an episode of
Enterprise. What happened?

What do I mean? Well as many of you might already know Enterprise is Cancelled. This is the first StarTrek show since the Original Series that has not lasted seven seasons. But why? Well its not too hard to put two and two together. Their names are Berman And Braga, Most just call them B&B. They produced everything from StarTrek Voyager, to Enterprise. They gave us the Great Box Office Bomb, StarTrek nemesis. They barely squeaked Voyager through it's Seven Year journey we call cable. And now they have finally failed with Enterprise.

Where did they go wrong? Well it seems Berman And Braga don't understand what the Fan Base wants. Actually in a recent interview Braga blamed the fans. He pretty much said the fans are getting sick of StarTrek. I'm a Fan, I'm not sick of StarTrek!! I'm just sick of Bragga and crew! Why? Well for some unknown reason Braga and his posse are In love with Time Travel Episodes. They love to make them, in fact the whole 1st season, and 2nd season of Enterprise was based around a Time Travel War. Blah.. What's wrong with that you may ask? Well Polls have showed in the past that Time Travel Episodes are StarTrek Viewers least favorite type of episodes!!

So why did they do it then? I believe it's because they are not in touch with the fan base, nor StarTrek in general. Now I would be kidding myself If I thought the Time Travel aspects of their shows was the only reason Enterprise Failed. It's not! Enterprise for it's first three seasons was not startrek! It was some alternate dimension. Berman And Braga didn't follow the History of trek at all. We were given enough little pieces of Trek history in the original series, and some of the other series. The Romulan war, birth of federation etc, the eventual piece treaties that made the Neutral zones. Instead Berman And Braga decided to write their own history, in direct conflict with what we learned about Enterprises time from the other series. Vulcans with emotion, Florida getting blasted to bits. God the list goes on, it doesn't come close to resembling the begging of the federation.

They tried to rectify this some in season 3. They made the Zindi Conflict... But guess what it was tied to time travel again. A mysterious race that lives outside time, talked the zindi into trying to destroy earth. It was an ok season, at the end of season Earth Was saved, but guess what? Not before Captain Archer went back IN TIME to WWII, and an alternate History of earth. OH GOD.

Then Season 4 started, I almost didn't watch it cause now its on Fridays at 8PM, way to go UPN, thanks for that. :( Lucky for us a new a fresh voice came in and gave season 4 an uplift, his Name is Manny Cato. He wrapped up the crappy time war. And help make what would be the best season yet of Enterprise. The Romulan War is on the horizon, its getting good!!! But It's too late. Its been cancelled. Season 4 for me is actually what season one should of been like. But now its gone.

But wait folks, its not over just yet. A few people are trying to save it. But it doesn't look good for right now. Maybe If Sci Fi picks it up. But they already have BattleStar Galatica. At this point it looks like the show will be dead. And with it any last chance for another Trek Series.

Now this is all just the tip of the iceberg. There is another Movie in the works. But guess what? Paramount in their infinite wisdom has given the movie to Braga to produce. Oh My God!! Ok, I think someone in Paramount wants StarTrek to die a Horrorible death.. And he is using Braga as his Tool to kill it. (since he seems so good at it) Only time will tell what will happen. But if Braga makes the Next Trek Movie, its going to bomb. Wish someone in paramount would slap some sense into the bigwigs! Keep giving Bragga his way, and Trek is dead Forever. Gene Rodenberry dust is rolling around in his space capsule today...

Guess there is always BattleStar Galatica.

Silent Hunter III Review

Well Review Time. Let me just say I have not played a WWII sub sim since Silent Service II. And I have never played A Sub Sim from the German perspective.

Graphics

Lets start with Silent Hunter III Graphics, With only a Default Level of 1024*768 the graphics look amazing. From the Inside of the Uboat, to the outside everything looks great. The SHIII developers even included the various crew members, which add a Huge immersion factor to the game. Not only that but the Explosions of the various Merchant and Warships are just great. They split in half, explode.. Or just sink from a normal hit.

But with all good things come trouble. On most of the Gforce Cards there are some graphic glitches that effect the Binocular view and UZO (this is what you use to target surface vessels while surfaced). Basically, if you have the Bug you will see white fuzz. And your frameRates will Plunder. Kinda hard to attack anything like this. Lucky for us though the Devs released a patch 2nd day, that turns off Particles for you can use the UZO. Its a Temp fix, and the devs have said that its A Driver problem with Nvidia cards, not a bug. Who knows hopefully a full fix will be soon.

Also the sun effect for Nvidia cards again are bugged or wrong. With other cards the sun is Very Bright and shiny. But with my 6600Gt it looks like the moon. If you shut off AA though it looks right, but AA is more important to me then the Pretty sun effects so I keep AA on.

Dynamic Campaign

Well, the fan's got what they asked for. A Dynamic Campaign! That along with the graphics and crew, brings this sim too the spot light. I must say Other then a few bugs, (more later) you have not played anything like this in your life. Where to start. Hmmm.

Well first you can start your career anytime between 1939 and 1943. You can choose a large number of flotillas to start from. (they differ from year to year) When you start your patrol, you start in the harbor. There is a Band and nurses waving at you wishing you and your crew luck. Just be careful navigating out. Do it manually, because you can't see the Docks and buildings in the map screen. And if you use the map screen to get out, you might hit a dock and end your career real early.

Your ship has a limited number of fuel, and if you start in a type IIA your not going to be out long. Type IIA has a range of about 1300M. And only has 6 Torps. After you upgrade too the Type VIIB things get a little more easy. Well at least for the happy Time. (Happy time was the time between 1939 and 1941 when German uboats pretty much almost destroyed the British Merchant Marine)

When your on patrol you have the option to use Time Acceleration, which unless you have no life you will need. Don't worry, if your Watch Crew Spots something the Time Acceleration drops to 8X or 1X. (It matters how far the contact is)

Before you leave port you are given orders to patrol a Particular Grid. You have to reach that grid and stay inside it for 24 hours. Now if your saying to yourself that sucks! I have to go where they tell me? Yup, but it doesn't suck, after you do your 24 hour stint in the grid your free to go where you wish, as long as your fuel holds out that is. (Don't forget you have to have enough to get back to your home port)

If you start in a Type IIA Sub, don't expect to go to far. Your patrol will last about a week. But a little hint, keep your speed at about 1/3, and you can almost double the distance you can go.

The actual patrols can be exciting, Nerve racking, to very boring. My first patrol I Didn't get a single kill. My 2nd Patrol I got 1 Merchant Kill. So it does very. One thing you will want to learn is how to plot an intercept course. There is the complicated way, and there is the simple way. Since Im a simple person I use the simple way. It's pretty easy to use this method for a merchant. Faster Warships would most likely require the complicated way. Basically once you find a contact and its reported on your map (if you use easy nav its put on map automaticaly). Use the ruler to draw a line from the contact, and your ship. The ruler will give you the distance. After finding the distance use the ruler again to draw a line in its probable direction of travel. You can tell this buy the little line sticking out the back of the Contact square on map. Draw the line for the same amount of distance between you and the contact. Now simply change course, and head to the end of that Line full speed. (since your much faster then the merchant, you should almost always get there before him). Once there reduce speed and start searching down the Probable course you think the contact will be on. For better luck Dive to periscope depth and listen for him. After a few minutes you should find him.

While in campaign you will be responsible for your crew, and officers. They get tired, can have low moral (if your not doing to well that is). Once you finish the patrol you will be able to train your crew in certain areas of the ship, like Machinist, torpedoes, flak guns etc. You can also give medals, promotions. The great thing about all this is that all the medals you give will actually show up on the 3d Render of the person you gave medals to on the next mission, Officers mostly. The only other way to see regular crew is on watch, or in the bridge.

Don't worry, when you use Above 32X time compression, things like fatigue, and moral are not counted. But it does become an issue when your searching for that Merchant and using under 32X time compression.

After the Patrol you are also giving Points for how well you did in the mission. Its called Renown. You can use your Renown to get upgrades for your Sub. Or better subs when they become available. You can also use renown to recruit New Crew Members that are a little better trained then the guy that just came from Sub School.

There are a huge number of Merchant ships, and most the bigger cargo vessels like the C2 and up, can have many different types of cargo on them.

Game Difficulty

The difficulty of the game depends on what year you start. For instance if you start in 39, your going to have a pretty easy time of it. If you start in 42, things will be a lot harder. Allied air patrols will cover most of the hunting grounds in later years. And the destroyer force will learn to hunt you better as time goes on. And by 1942, merchants will be armed and ready for you.

You can set things in the difficulty screen before each patrol. You can choose to have Auto TDC, or Manual. In Manual TDC you will have to figure out, distance, bearings, etc to get a good solution on target. Other things in TDC you can do, you can select magnetic, and impact for the torpedoes. Basically your impact torpedoes have to hit the ship to explode. And your magnetic ones can travel under the ship and explode. To use Magnetic though you need to use the ship recognition manual and learn its Keel Depth. And set the depth of the torpedo to 1 meter lower then the recongnition has KD Set too. But beware, for the first year of war, German torpedoes had the same problems US Ones do later in war. They are duds. They get better as time goes on though. But the Magnetic settings troubled the Germans through out the war. Mainly they were very sensitive and would premature explode on way to target.

Other Menu Options

If your wondering what German Subs are in the Game here is a quick rundown.
Type IIA,Type IID
Type VIIB,Type VIIC, Type VIIC/41, Type VIIC/42
Type IXB, Type IXC, Type IXC40, Type IXD2
And Of course The Type XXI.

Silent Hunter III also comes with a Sub School. It has 5 missions were they teach you Control of Uboat, Flakgun, Deckgun, torpedoes, and convoy hunting. If you do the missions before your start your Campaign then you will get a Bonus Renown. I did 2 Of them and got 1500 Renown for it.

If you want to look at all the Units in Silent Hunter III, just check out the Museum. It has every unit in game. It also list them by year. So if you have a coastal merchant in 39, it doesn't change much in 40, or 41. But if you look at the 42 model they added a nice little Deck gun. You go to the 44 Model and the beast has forward deck gun, and 2 rear guns.

Sound

The sound in SHIII is great. It would be even greater if I didn't have a set of 5 year old 3 Piece Speaker's. But even with the 5 year old speakers the sound blew me away. You have to hear it too believe it. But beware, I noticed that if you have Time Acceleration set pretty high, you skip over most of the Voices, like contact reports etc. So you have to pay attention to the text messages. Music is ok, its always playing in the background and does seem to change with different situations.

Some Negatives

Now some of the Negative things about Silent Hunter III. First No WolfPacks. Urggg. I have to neglect some points for this one. Wolfpacks were a major part of the German Uboat Offensive. Also no Milk Cows (Resupply Ships) Again more points taken off. -5

Another small oversight by the devs, no compass tool in map room. What do I mean? Well it you have realistic Navigation set (meaning you plot the courses, speed, distance, bearings on map yourself) there is no compass tool in map room to use to Plot the contacts bearing from your Sub. So If Your spotter yells out a contact, how are you suppose to find bearings on the map? Oppsss. -2

Now for the bugs, I already told you about the the Nvidia bugs. Devs say its a Driver issue with Nvidia. Either way this should have been noticed before it hit the shelves. -3

Now I've been on the forums seen the complaints of games not starting, blah blah.. Anyway mine started, works, has no crashes. Most of these issues are Computer issues. Best advice update drivers.. And stop buying store bought junk. To be a serious gamer you should be building your own rig anyway. ;)

There also Seems to be a bug with the Sub School. I have seen on the forums people saying they have done all the Test and only got 1500 Renown. I find that kind of strange cause, I only did two of them and I got 1500 Renown too. Seems to be a bug too me. -1

Now a lot of people complain about the weather system. I tell you what I tend to agree. It seems that everytime I leave port its nice and clear out, hardly any wind, sea state is very reasonable. But after a few days at sea, I guarantee that you will be in a major storm that last at least a week. Every time. Well actually my last patrol I had decent weather for a week. And actually got to use my deck gun a lot. Anyway other people say that they never get bad weather. Some people say that they never see rain. (I've seen it twice so far). I don't know what to make of all this is it a bug? Or is it just the limitations of the game engine? Can't say for sure so No - for this one.

Conclusion And Final Score

My conclusion, your not going to find a better WWII sub sim on the market. With the dynamic campaign, crew management, reward system, and just the way that SHIII brings you into the world of Subs makes this game one of the best Simulations I have played this year, without a doubt. Even with some of the bugs and missing features, like wolfpacks. I think American Developers should start looking out for these Other side of the world Developers. If this keeps up, we will be playing mostly games made in Checkaslavokia, Poland, and Russia. And if they keep making these games, I be glad to buy them. I have a feeling SHIII will keep me busy for months. And hopefully that means I won't have to buy another game to fill the, I have nothing to play slot. Good job devs. But I still want milk cows and Wolfpacks!!! Don't forget!

Ok, this is just the most Disgusting thing I have seen this year yet. Ok number one this woman is not ON LIFE SUPPORT. She is on a feeding Tube. She can Breath on her own, she cam mumble, sit up. And does seem to be responsive after a few minutes If you ask her something. (she can't make words though)

So basically this Judge, says its ok for her Husband (NOT EX BY WAY) to have the Feeding tube taken out. This is just CRAP. Ok for those without a clue, she is not going to die in 5 mins. (they took it out Friday) She is going to suffer and STARVE TO DEATH. Totally Bullshit.

Now on Terry's so called husband. Remember for BETTER OR WORSE JACKASS. Number one, he shouldn't even be married to her anymore. He has a girlfriend and kids with his girlfriend for goodness sakes. So basically he cheated on her. Why is he still married to her? Who the hell knows but this guy is a total scum bag. Is it for money? Nobody knows! He has been offered A Million dollars to sign over his rights to her, and give them back to her parents. A Popular Talk Radio Show Glenn Beck has actually raised about 4 Million Dollars to give to Mr Sciavo to give up his rights too her. He has declined so is it money or not?

Her parents have asked him to sign over the rights. They will take care of her. Still NOPE.

The problem is Mr Sciavo says that She would not want to live this way. But she has no Living Will to testify to this. What is he hiding? Is it deep love? Or is he just a scum bag like I think he is. Whatever the reason, there is no reason in this world, that a woman should be starved to death. NONE AT ALL.

The Ring II

What Can I say. This movie was just a Pure Ripoff. I tell you what, I am getting very discouraged with the crap hollywood is shoving down our throats. I'm a little more intelligent then what this movie tried to show. Actually my IQ might have went down a couple dozen points after watching this Crap.

The original remake of the Ringu was ok. But this one took the cake. It was not, I repeat was not as intense or remotely scary as the last movie. Not even close. And its pretty much the SAME story with all the cool stuff from the original taken out.

If you have to see this movie, then bring a Hanky, cause you will be in tears, after you realize you spent 8 Bucks on this garbage.
